Why gutters fail in Canada

A Clogged Gutter Doesn't Just Overflow — It Freezes

The fall clog

Leaves and needles pack the trough, water sheets over the edge, and it dumps against your foundation, fascia and soffits — the slow-motion damage you don't see until the repair bill arrives.

The winter freeze

A blocked gutter holds standing water that freezes solid, feeding ice dams and icicles. GutterBrush keeps the trough open so meltwater drains instead of pooling and refreezing at the eaves.

The ladder problem

Twice-a-year gutter cleaning means hours on a ladder — the single most common cause of home-maintenance falls. Slide the brush in once and most homes never climb up for a clog again.

The brush protects what's in the gutter — snow guards protect the gutter itself

On a Canadian metal roof, sliding snow can rip an entire eavestrough off the fascia in one release. GutterBrush keeps the trough flowing; SnoBar® rails or pad-style snow guards hold the snowfield so it never hits your gutters at all. Metal-roof homes should run both.

Quick answers

GutterBrush Canada Questions, Answered

How does GutterBrush work?

It's a cylindrical brush with stiff UV-protected bristles around a galvanized steel core. The brush fills the gutter trough so leaves and debris rest on top and blow away or dry out, while rain and meltwater pass straight through the bristles and out the downspout — exactly what a Canadian freeze-thaw winter needs. No screens to clog, no covers for water to overshoot.

Is it really a no-tools install?

Yes — pieces simply slide into the existing gutter end to end. No screws, no clips, no drilling into your roof or fascia, and nothing voids a roof warranty. Most homes are done in under an hour, and the brush lifts right back out whenever you want to rinse it or check the trough.

Which size do I need?

Measure the gutter opening across the top in inches or centimetres. Most Canadian homes have standard 5″ (12.7 cm) K-style gutters — that's the 5 Inch. Newer builds and metal-roof homes often run 6″ / 15.2 cm (6 Inch), mobile homes and carports take the 4 Inch (10.2 cm), and commercial box gutters take the 7 or 8 Inch. Not sure? Send a photo and the width with your quote request.

Does GutterBrush help with ice dams?

It helps where ice starts: standing water. A clogged gutter holds water that freezes into a solid block and feeds ice buildup at the eaves. With the trough kept clear, meltwater drains through the bristles and out the downspout instead of pooling and refreezing. It's not a heat cable — but it removes the clog that makes gutter ice worse.

Do you ship GutterBrush across Canada?

Yes — every province and territory, from our warehouse in Paris, Ontario. Prices are in Canadian dollars with stock already in Canada: no duties, no brokerage, no border delays.
