What roof type does this clamp fit?

It's designed for asymmetrical standing seam metal roof panels. For symmetrical bulb or "T" seams, use the RoofClamp RCT with the RCB-3 bracket instead. Confirm your seam profile before ordering — we're happy to verify it for you.

Does it penetrate or damage the roof?

No. The clamp grips the standing seam using two cup-tip set screws — there are no screws or holes through the roof panel, so it won't compromise the seams or the roof warranty.

Can I buy these clamps and build my own rail system?

No. SnoBar® and ColorBar® are engineered systems. Clamp spacing must follow a layout designed for your roof and snow load. These clamps are sold as part of a designed system, and assembling your own configuration is not covered by warranty. We provide free layout guidance.
